What our fund does...

 

The Fund was set up in 1934 in memory of Sydney George Edridge OBE, the founder and first General Secretary of Napo, and is now an independent registered charity.

 

Eligibility to benefit from the Edridge Fund extends to anyone in the Probation Service or Cafcass who is eligible to be a member of Napo, and their dependents.

 

This includes retired staff.

The Edridge Fund supports Probation and Cafcass staff

at times of stress and

financial crisis.

Cafcass looks after the

 interests of children involved

in family proceedings

Probation Officer – High legal costs following marital break down.

 

Edridge gave £400.

 

‘I was really grateful for the help especially as it came from my peers. I do now realise the importance of Edridge, having been a user’

 

Trainee Probation Officer – Overwhelmed by bills, particularly council tax.

 

Edridge gave £250, and suggested

an approach to CAB.

 

‘Thank you so much for the money, which

cleared my Council Tax arrears. I also

contacted CAB who have helped’

 

Retired Probation Officer – Needed assistance to adapt home as a result of disability.

 

Edridge gave £500.

Edridge gave £450. The Edridge

Representative also gave advice

and support.

Probation Officer – Financial problems after an acrimonious relationship break down, and complete lack of financial support from ex-partner.

 

Edridge gave £400.

 

‘I appreciated the financial help especially as the money had been donated by Probation and Cafcass people. I was so pleased someone listened to my circumstances’

 

Senior Probation Officer – Financial problems following lengthy sickness.

 

Edridge gave £300, and the local

Edridge Representative made contact.
